How I work

I help individuals and couples with a wide range of sexual and relationship difficulties, including painful sex, erectile problems, challenges with reaching orgasm, low desire, desire discrepancy between partners, arousal concerns, feelings of shame, and low self‑esteem. I take a sex‑positive, nonjudgmental approach. Whatever is troubling you, I offer a brief introductory call to explore whether I can help. Your particular issue may not be listed here, so please do get in touch to discuss.

Sex and relationship therapy is talk-based psychotherapy; there is no physical touch during sessions, you remain clothed at all times during the session and no medical examinations are involved.

I may use educational materials such as diagrams to help inform you, and may suggest exercises that you can use at home, either on your own or with your partner, and signpost you to other resources.

Discovery call

This free, no-obligation 15-minute call gives you the chance to talk through what’s going on for you and ask me any questions you may have. It’s an informal chat that gives us both the opportunity to see whether I’m the right therapist for you. I can recommend other therapists if I don’t think I’m best suited to support you at this time.

Booking and admin

After the discovery call, if you decide you’re ready to begin, we’ll find a suitable start date. I’m currently taking on new clients on Tuesdays and Wednesdays - slots are limited.

I will send you a contract and privacy information (GDPR) for you to look over in advance of your appointment and we will also go over this together in your first session. This will need to be read, signed and dated.

The first few sessions will be focussed on gathering information, getting to know each other and building rapport. I work on a short term or long term basis, depending on what you want to work on. We will discuss this in the early sessions, and review on a regular basis.

Finding a therapist is a very individual process and it’s important to spend time gauging this.

Appointments are available in person (Brighton and Hove), or UK- wide (online; Zoom or similar platform). We will usually work on a weekly basis, unless agreed otherwise.

I work with people of all genders and sexual orientations, with individuals and partnerships of up to two people.
